EIA: US expects record global demand for oil in 2022, 2023

MOSCOW, Jan 12 (PRIME) -- The U.S. Department of Energy has maintained its forecasts for record oil demand in the world in 2022 at 100.5 million barrels pare day and in 2023 at 102.3 million barrels per day, the Energy Information Administration (EIA) said in a report late on Tuesday.

The authority expects oil demand to rise by 3.6 million barrels a day in 2022 and by 1.8 million barrels a day more in 2023, setting record highs and outperforming the figures of 2019.

The EIA also raised its forecast for the average annual price of the Brent oil blend in 2022 to U.S. $74.95 per barrel from $70.05 per barrel, and of the WTI blend price to $71.32 per barrel this year from the previous estimate of $66.42.
